Privacy policy

Onofrio’s Top Shop (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through onofrios.ca, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• Information you give us. When you request a quote, send a contact message or apply to become a dealer, we collect what you type in: usually your name, email, phone number, town or address, and project details. Quote requests can also include drawings, measurements, photos you upload, and the slabs, remnants and sinks you picked.
• Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers collect basic technical information such as your browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location (from your IP address). We use this to keep the site secure and to understand how it’s used.

How we use it

• To prepare quotes, answer your questions and schedule templating and installation.
• To review dealer applications and manage dealer accounts.
• To keep records of your project, including any guarantee.
• To improve the website and protect it from spam and abuse.

We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them.

Who we share it with

We only share information with service providers that help us run the business and this website, such as our web host, our email provider, security and spam-protection services, and the services listed below. They may only use it to provide their service to us. Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to local laws. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies, local storage and outside services

• Your quote picks. The slabs, remnants and sinks you add to a quote are saved in your own browser (local storage) so they’re still there when you reach the quote form. They aren’t sent to us until you submit the form. Clearing your browser data, or pressing Remove, deletes them.
• Analytics. We may use Google Analytics to see which pages are popular. It uses cookies and collects information in a way that doesn’t directly identify you. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Embedded content. Our in-stock pages show slab details from SlabCloud. Our homepage video is from YouTube, and it only loads when you press play. Our contact page links to Google Maps. These services may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may not.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and project records for as long as we need them for your project, your guarantee, and our tax and accounting obligations. After that, we delete them or make them anonymous.

How we protect it

The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to submitted information is limited to our staff. No method of sending or storing information online is perfectly secure, so please don’t send payment card numbers or passwords through our forms.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless we need to keep it by law). You can also withdraw your consent to further use. Contact us using the details below. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Information on this site

• Colours and photos. Natural stone varies from slab to slab, and colours look different from screen to screen. Photos, swatches and the visualizer are a guide only. We recommend seeing your actual slab in our warehouse before it’s cut.
• Stock. The in-stock pages update automatically but can be a little behind. A slab or remnant isn’t reserved for you until we confirm it.
• Prices and quotes. Prices shown are starting prices and can change without notice. Your final price is the one on the written quote we give you after measuring.
• Care advice. Care guides and blog articles are general information. For warranty purposes, always follow your manufacturer’s care instructions.

Quotes and work

Submitting a quote request doesn’t create a contract. Our work is governed by the written quote or agreement you accept. Our guarantee is described there, and manufacturer warranties are provided by each manufacturer under their own terms.

Our content

The text, photos and design of this site belong to Onofrio’s Top Shop or its suppliers. Please don’t copy them for commercial use without our permission. Brand names and logos belong to their owners.

Links to other sites

We link to manufacturers, care guides and other sites for your convenience. We aren’t responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Limits of liability

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but it’s provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we’re not responsible for losses that come from using the site or relying on its general information.

Changes and governing law

We may update this page from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
