Undermount
Sits under the counter for a clean edge you can wipe straight into. For quartz and granite.
Drop-in
The rim rests on the counter. The usual choice for laminate, and easy to swap later.
Farmhouse
Exposed apron front and deep bowls. Needs a sink cabinet made for an apron.
Workstation
A built-in ledge for cutting boards, colanders and racks that slide along the sink.
Gauge: lower is thicker. 16-gauge steel is heavier and quieter than 18 or 20.
Corners: 10 mm corners look crisp and modern; 20 mm corners are easier to wipe clean.
Cabinet: each sink lists the minimum sink-cabinet width it needs. Measure inside the cabinet.
